Rev. Dr. Elmo Johnson

Senior Pastor

Pastor Johnson was born in 1953 in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and raised by his grandmother. His family moved to Houston in 1968, where he attended M.C. Williams High School and Houston Baptist University. He became involved in ministries at Antioch M. B. C., accepting his calling to preach in 1973 In 1976, he assisted Rev. Crawford W. Kimble at Good Hope M. B. C. for eight years.In 1984, he was called to serve as the fifth Pastor at Rose of Sharon M. B. C. Under his leadership, he focused on building up the church, restructuring ministries, and expanding the Youth ministry. He also demonstrated a deep love for the Fourth Ward community, where Rose of Sharon continues to play a vital role.

Sis. Mary K. Johnson

First Lady

Mary K. Johnson, a Houston native, graduated from Lamar High School and earned a Master's degree in Religious Education from Jacksonville Baptist Theological Seminary. She has been married to Dr. Elmo Johnson, Pastor of Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, for over 40 years. As a Chaplain, author, conference speaker, and radio personality, she enjoys reading, traveling, golfing, and time with loved ones. Her greatest mission is sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
